Film producer Chris Veerhuis lives in Perth, is married with two children and has worked in the Australian film and television industry for over 10 years.
Chris is known for his exceptional standards of work across his broad spectrum of experience from producing, creative development, project funding, location management, on set logistics, local community relations and more. He continues to be a vocal advocate for creating opportunities for home-grown talent and is dedicated to bringing exciting, fresh films into global distribution.
His most recent work includes co-producing two high profile Australian feature films, Red Dog: True Blue (2016) in the Pilbara (directed by Kriv Stenders) and Breath (2017), on the WA South Coast (directed by Simon Baker).
Chris works closely with the creators of each individual project to help bring their vision into reality both on the screen and behind the scenes. This includes working with the creative talent on film development, industry partners to amplify the creative opportunity and Australian film agencies and industry bodies to provide an end to end solution from script to screen.
Chris is also an owner/director of West Coast Production Services (WCPS), a Perth based company that engages the services of exceptional industry professionals to provide pre-production and production support to Film, Television and TV Commercial producers. WCPS specialises in remote area filming and has extensive experience working in regional Australia, on mine sites, with traditional owners and local communities.
Chris has provided film services to a number of WA based feature films including Red Dog (Pilbara), Paper Planes (Perth), Jasper Jones (Pemberton), Satellite Boy (East Kimberley), Son of a Gun (Perth) and Blame (Perth).
